Artist History
Tony's passion for the guitar began over twenty years ago. Armed with nothing but his sister's ukulele and a desire to learn, he began working on simplified Beatles' songs. After upgrading to a cheap 3/4 size Harmony guitar (which his mom used to play "Tom Dooley" on,) Tony became completely obsessed with improving his chops. "I think a lot of my initial motivation for playing so much was the fact that girls seemed more interested in me when I sang and played my guitar for them!" says Tony. "Listening to Santana, Hendrix, and B.B. King also had a great impact on me. Prior to hearing them, I thought of the guitar as a device to accompany my singing. After hearing Santana and B.B. King I realized that they were singing through their instrments--they were really speaking. And that made me look at the guitar in a whole new way." These simple beginnings eventually led to stints as a professional guitarist (which included several national as well as international tours,) selling intruments and other music gear, and as a guitar taecher. Tony's long experience in the studio has also made possible a second career as an independent producer, recording engineer, and a college instructor of studio music recording. Currently Tony is living, playing, recording and teaching in Phoenix, as well as raising five children with his wife Francelle. He can be reached at Tone2235@aol.com
