THE TAKEOVER - Everyone for Themselves
GRRRRRRRR...HRRRRRRRLLLLLLL, GRRRRAWWWWWWW...Yes
folks, that's the underlying sound of the brawny
hardcore band THE TAKEOVER. "Everyone for Themselves"
is a seven song EP that hits back to a sound made
popular by such bands as UNBROKEN and INDECISION.
Defying complete genre identification, THE TAKEOVER
churn out bass-heavy tunes that get the stereo
thumping. While the contemporary HATEBREED influence
is there as well, a good deal of technical precision
is presented, and it's hard not to get compelled into
focusing full attention on this band. Dark, ravaging
lyrics thread each song together, pushing harder to
convey strings of intensity. Given the overall terms
of seven tunes in 15 minutes, this is a fine
introduction to a band with a bright future.

THE TAKEOVER
EVERYONE FOR THEMSELVES
STILLBORN RECORDS
for being a band for a short period of time,
these guys have a huge buzz going on about them.
i can see why. this is an awesome hardcore EP.
i often refer to this brand of hardcore as "low
end" or "downtuned" hardcore, so far this seems
to be my favorite of that type. it is punishing
and unrelenting in it's delivery. harsh guitars,
looming and rumbling basslines, thunderous drums,
and gritty/harsh vocals make up this 7 song EP of
mid-tempo hardcore. my suggestion: if you're a fan
of terror, hatebreed, blood for blood, and other
bands like them, you'd love this record. check out
the hype, they're deserving of all the hype they
get. (taken from WWW.CALAMITYPROJECT.COM) |
