    Press Reviews
In an industry that caters to the fickle ear of the masses it is refreshing find a rock band these days with substance. And that is what you'll get, given the chance to experience the twenty-something five-piece hailing from Tempe, AZ known as HUMAN. No genre can contain or claim to label their marriage of heavy riffs and driving melodies. The birth of HUMAN began one chilly October evening in front of a small coffee shop near Shaun Carty's [guitar] house. Shuan happened to bump into Mike Greeley [lead guitar] at a local music store a month earlier and mentioned he was interested in starting a band. "We were looking for something more than a project… something that would allow us to share our talent on a larger scale. When Clay [Moline, bass], Jon [Logan, drums], Shaun and I met up for the first time something clicked." Remembers Mike. Within a month these four had moved in together and began writing material. The search to find a vocalist was on. A discouraging several months later, the lack of a singer was gnawing away at the spirits of the infant band. After countless auditions Jeremy Kellum proved clearly superior to his competition and was immediately initiated. During the next two years of HUMAN's existence, following a series of unexpected trials, there developed an advanced level of maturity and a close bond of friendship between the five. "Being robbed at gun point is a great way to help put things in perspective." Says Jon. And put things in perspective it did. Jail time, drugs and overall excess had begun to hinder the group's original dream. The mounting frustration towards this lack of focus spurred them to re-think their musical careers. A promise was formulated to rededicate their lives to music, a promise that stands to this day. HUMAN currently is focused on capturing the local spotlight with plans to tour neighboring states in the near future. Their newly released demo caters to both commercial and underground audiences, a feat few bands are able to achieve. This is a passionate band that secretes creativity, an energetic club-packing spectacle capable of winning over fans at every turn.
