Artist description
The past and the future are ever colliding on the playing field called popular music. The listening public is thirsting for something new that also has definable and comfortable touchstones to the past. The future is now...
The Fad, a turbo-charged three piece rock n roll band from New York City, will have you remembering some of their influences, which include The Jam, The Kinks, The Sonics and The Beatles, to name a few; but The Fad aren't trying to be retro. They like the 60’s and 70’s fine but they know the time they live in and they like it that way.
The Fad are three young men of action. John Laurence, age 23, lead singer and guitarist, shakes his hips and flirts with just enough bad boy in him to make moms worry about their daughters. Michael Pisano, age 23 on bass/vocals, is the cute but shy accomplice on the front line that moms love! Keeping the beat pounding like a chip off the old Keith Moon is 20 year old blond-boy drummer Anthony DeCarlo who moms just haven’t figured out whether to love or fear yet! |

Press Reviews
"This mod/garage trio's fun brand of energetic, catchy pop/rock n' roll packs a punch and delivers a melody. This is action-packed rock chock full of ultra-danceable grooves, and it's sure to get your booty shakin' in no-time flat. Are these guys the next big thing? Let's hope so!" -- Josh Rutledge/Now Wave Magazine
"The Fad's debut 6 song EP is a powerful garage-mod assault driven by drummer Anthony DeCarlo's furious drum fills, singer/guitarist John Laurence's forays into hyper-fuzz, and bassist Michael Pisano's uber-melodic high-energy runs. Throw the vocal harmonies and songwriting of Laurence/Pisano (and DeCarlo) into all this and you get a mighty fine collection that can only lead to bigger and better things for this NYC based trio. Rip roarin' stuff." -- Colin Bryce/Mohair Sweets Magazine, UK
