Artist History
Believe it or not, I always wanted to be the back-up singer. I preferred this to being a lead singer. I grew up listening to my mom and dad singing together with my dad singing harmony. I have always tending to sing the harmony parts before the lead part.
Needless to say, I took that position in every band I have been in. I have sang in Sushi joints, coffee joints, places where joints were smoked. (No, mom, I did not!) I was one of three back-up singer in "No Exit", a nine piece band, that had a real rockin'
blues style. One year we were invited to perform on the Easter Seals telethon. I have yet to see the tape. The hair stylist teased my hair so much, it looked like I was wearing a football helmet. We had a regular stinks at a place called "Webers" in Reseda,
California. They were a real talented bunch of musicians so the sound was real tight.
My next go was with the Boo Boo's. (They had the name before I started so don't give me any lip!) I can't help think of a band-aid every time I say the name. Again, real talented people. The lead was Kim who wrote all the material along with her husband, Sam.
I really like their style and was really sad when they decided to call it quits. The had been performing and rehearsing while being separted without anyone in the band knowing what was going on. I must say they were very professional people.
I started a band of my own, singing my own songs - a bass and a drummer and me. We did pretty good for the three of us, but we did not get far.
I was lucky enough to be cast in a local run of the musical "Godspell". What an experience. Singing in front of the others talent at my first
rehearsal is what cured me of being shy about my voice. That whole experience was a gift from God. There's a wonderful story behind that for
anyone who asks.
I really enjoy performing, but I really would love to hear my songs in movies. I don't care if my music is top 40 or not. I love writing and
am so frustrated that I can not get my songs recorded fast enough. So - if you like "Is It Just Me", I promise there are more good songs on the way.
