Artist description
Jason Campbell captures audiences with a solid acoustic rock performance laced with blues, folk, and latin tones. From personal emotions to political stands, some of Campbell's deepest lyrics seem hidden by the warm and upbeat vibe of his music. It's not uncommon to see a djimbay player or percussionist holding down the role of rhythm section and getting people on their feet. Campbell mixes moods with some real toe tapping grooves that keeps his live show pumping. With a sense of melody to compliment genuine passion, you don't have to search for the real him. Jason is one of those artists you believe and can really sink in to. |

Artist History
Campbell has been playing around Santa Barbara for nearly ten years. His dynamic bass playing got him in the music scene, starting out in the folk-rock jam band, Sweet Onion. Known for an intense live show, supporting their album "Storms Upon The Sea" , Sweet Onion played hundreds of gigs around California sharing the stage with Sublime, Mother Hips, Left Over Salmon, and MOE to name a few. A few years later Sweet Onion parted and Campbell landed a gig with Buck Storm, a promising songwriter who formed a new band under his name. Storm enjoyed a loyal following, gigging heavily to promote their album, "Goodbye from Venus", until they went seperate ways. John Payne, also formerly of Buck Storm, frequently adds his magic on guitar to Jason's live shows. Along with Steve Campbell (djimbay), John Mooy (percussion), Al "LaVerga" (bass), and D. Malcolm Anderson (piano), also sitting in, you are always guaranteed a great band to back it up. |
