    Artist History
Eyeswide started out with just Scott and Brad meeting every so often to play youth group praise songs in Brad's basement. With an acoustic gitar, a $20.00 grunge pedal, 20 watt amp, no mic, and Brad's deafening volume on his new trap set... Scott and Brad attempted to "jam" as they called it. One night Scott slept over at Brad's and they put music and words together to form their first song called "Pain." From there the two kept writing in the hope of creating marketable material. One of the guys' best friends Josh, had just picked up the guiar, and expressed interest in singing. Dan was a senior at Sctt's high school ad Scott as a junior appoached Dan to see if he would play bass for his band. Dan without thinking musch said yes. It turned out in the fall of 2001 Dan was best at leaad guitar, and Josh at bass and backup vocals. Now the band was formed. It didn't take long for the guys to decide on a name. "Poster Child" was the name of choice. With sweating palms Poster Child made their first live appearance at their home church's talent show. Later that fall, their home church decided to let them start practicing, using the church's facilities. So they started playing in an old basement of a building the church owned. After finding out some rapper was named Poster Child, the band saw the necessity to change the name. Brad presented the idea of the name Eyeswide, and everyone liked it. Grace church in Roseville decided to sponsor Eyeswide, letting them use the main sanctuary as a practicing facility. Eyeswide decided to bring in Noah Porter on bass, and move Josh to vocal and acoustic, and gained a unique rock sound with having an acoustic on stage. With the new personal, Eyeswide gained a lot of confidence in many areas. Scheduling conflict after scheduling conflict, Eyeswide and Grace made a descision that a different place would be better for practie and be sponsored by. Grace Fellowship where Dan's brother was the youth pastor at, asked Eyeswide if they would like to be sponsored by them, and use their facilities to practice in. Eyeswide, without hesitation, accepted the offer. They have been there ever since. Josh and the guys decided that it might be better if Josh take a break from the band. There was a lot of prayer and thought going into the descision, and many reasons involved in the descision. They miss Josh greatly and thank him enormously for his contributions and the memories of having him in the band. Eyeswide decided to put Noah on back up vocals, for a quick tempoary fix, and is still in search for the missing link to make this band reach it's full potential. Eyeswide waits with anxious hearts and Eyeswide to where they will be and what the future holds.
