Artist History The Jhai Alai began in early 1998 as a four-piece and began recording in March 1998 before making their first appearance at the Hardcore Fest in May 1998 playing alongside Plain Sunset and Malaysian hardcore band Ground Rule. This followed by a series of gigs at Area 22 Club in which The Jhai Alai opened for Australian grindcore band Warsore and local grindcore band Demisor. The Jhai Alai took to the studios in July 1999 to produce their first self-released self-titled cd of 10 previously unreleased tracks. They also put two tracks on the Making Waves compilation on Straits Records featuring tracks from various Singapore hardcore bands. The Jhai Alai last performed at 4Ward Studios in February 2002 at the Lion City Takeover Festival which was documented on a three-band vcd compilation available on Jahil Records.
