Artist description
The music found on the band's debut independent release entitled Dess Presents is an original blend of acoustic jams, rock, and emo, with seldom hints of punk. This sound is created through the diverse individual influences from Jimmy Eat World to Incubus and Dave Matthews Band to Ani DiFranco. Singer Grant Croissant's vocal melodies range from refreshing and soothing at times to candid and biting during more explosive, emotional parts. Guitarist Nate Barna has an uncanny ability to be both intricate and creative while understanding the importance of knowing when to mix in hints of simplicity. Combined with tight drumming and rhythmic bass riffs, the CD is both powerful and moving. The lyrical content found in the music is widely appealing with its universal references to heart breaking relationships and positive intimate experiences.
