Artist History
K.C. Hingley has been flying under the radar of Victoria’s music scene for years. In 1999 he began his tenure with local band “Saint Libido” as drummer, vocalist and songwriter. That band took part in 107.3 Extreme’s Bandfest 2000. After the band broke up, K.C. decided that he was most comfortable behind a guitar, which he had been playing for over ten years, and writing songs for his own voice. In 2001, K.C. began recording with producer Josh Sczcepanowski. The sessions went on for roughly a year and a half. In the end he had completed two full-length EPs. K.C.’s music is at once folk, blues, country and rock with a strong emphasis on lyrical content. Some of his varied influences are: Tom Waits, The Flaming Lips, Wilco, Bob Dylan, Rufus Wainwright and Gordon Lightfoot. He is currently available to play solo acoustic shows. His set can range between thirty minutes to two hours incorporating both original and cover material. |
