Artist description
HLD is a group that was formed in December 2002. Primarily began with Chris Arkos who has been a DJ for almost 10 years, since the age of 15. Chris began remixing commercial tracks 5 years ago, with his most successful remix being "Madonna - Like A Prayer (DJ Arkos House 2000 Mix)". For those who don't know, this was the remix with Black Legend. Then 2 years later MadHouse made a cover of it. The production side of things began mid 2002 when Chris' girlfriend left him. This was very devastating to him and caused much pain. Chris really wanted to win her back and the only way he figured he could do this would be to write her a song where he could put his heart into it and express just exactly what he feels. The project initially started out as a slow/love song. Luckily, Chris remembered how much Lena dislikes slow tunes, so he quickly realized that there had to be a change. It is Dance music that she really likes to listen to. Though it is the harder stuff like Warp Brothers that Lena enjoys listening to most. Chris also realized that in order to properly express his feelings, the track could not be too heavy, it had to be a neutral Dance/Club song, not too light but not too heavy. It had to be just right. Chris wanted to sing on the entire track once he sang the chorus because it sounded good, but then changed his mind as he felt that he wanted a smoother and warmer sound. He began seeking a female vocalist. After auditioning a few singers, he thought he found the right person, until one night while spinning at a local club an old friend named Irina walked over to the DJ booth to say hello. They hadn't seen each other in over 1 year. Chris told Irina about his project and she took great delight and explained how she might be the right person. They held an audition one night in Chris' studio and the rest is history. She was perfect. The name HLD was born when Chris was trying to think of a name that would suit well, yet represent something meaningful. HLD is something that only Lena knows the true meaning of. Everyone else can make what they please of it. I would prefer, Hold Love Down. "FEELING SO BAD" can be heard pumping in clubs in Toronto, Canada and it is also starting to receive airplay on several radio stations. We are hoping for the best and oh yeah, hope that Lena decides to give Chris a second chance. This one is for LENA!
