Artist description
In a genre which is quickly dissolving into a Swedish Rock & Roll crusade, the Exchange Students have set themselves apart with their unique mission: they’re not out to save rock and roll; they just want to play it. Above and beyond the mindless drove of “the” bands before them, the Exchange Students count on blistering guitar hooks, unforgiving drums, and sternum-shaking bass to carry the day.
Despite the obvious influence of bands such as Mission of Burma, the Pixies, Fugazi and At the Drive In, this Boston-based trio leaves its loyal fan base gasping for musical reference points at the end of every show. Over the course of their short career, the Exchange Students have shared the stage with such prominent national acts as Ween as well as up-and-coming Boston acts the Damn Personals, Damone, and Hip Tanaka. Their freshman effort, The Wanderlust EP, has enjoyed generous airtime at College Radio Stations throughout the Northeast, and their patented sound shows no signs of stopping there.
