Artist description
A rock trio from the DC area that attempts to stray from the typical approach to songwriting and instead concentrate on structure and feel.
Somewhat political in nature, Messengers lyrics are with purpose and never lighthearted. They do not sing about self-deprecation like most other rock bands playing today.

Artist History
Formed as a 4-piece amongst old friends in August of 2001, Messenger was originally Cory Stevenson and TL Smoot on guitar, Todd Naumann on bass, and Ben Tufts on drums.
After laying down the groundwork for several songs, Todd left the band due to time constraints. Being an accomplished bassist, TL filled the void on bass and Messenger became a trio.
Having difficulty finding shows in the DC area, Messenger has remained a 3-piece and successfully recorded a 4-song demo (recorded by Todd, the gent who left the band) at Montana Studios in Richmond, VA.
