    Artist History
Burning Blue began as the vision of founding member and guitarist, Donny Knaub. The vision; to create a Christian hard rock band the likes of which has not been seen. Donny's seering licks were accentuated by the sharp, powerful vocals of lead singer, Randy Hock and the precise, thunderous percussion of Chad Gossard. When Kevin Kresge lended his highly-polished, intricate bass lines in 2002, the band became more than a Christian metal band. Versatile and innovative, Burning Blue's sound has transcended even it's visionary's own highest hopes. Now, as the scope of their ministry grows, they begin plans to take the message of Jesus Christ to places and people seldom reached in this day and age.

Homegrownbands.com: Burning Blue always one of my favorites headlining the show keeps the party rocking. When we first came up with the idea for Homegrownbands almost a year ago (Jan 29th will be one year) Burning Blue was one of the first bands we hooked up with. They gave us a copy of their CD "Sessions" and we put their song "My Hypocrisy" up on our Home Grown Music page (then called previews) gave us their schedule so we could post. And put a link back to us on their website, we were so excited a link back to our website and the beginning of our dream. So I just wanted to thank you again helping us out getting started. And besides that you sound great and put on an excellent show. Randy Houck front man and vocals has an excellent voice with clarity and range to handle both covers and their originals with a good clean sound. Donnie Knaub and Kevin Kresge a really good duo on guitar and bass. Back hiding in the back on the drums is Chad Gossard keeping it all together. Burning Blue put on a great show as usual with a little pause for Beth's birthday surprise. Check out some of the pictures it was a fantastic party. Make sure you see Burning Blue if you get a chance an outstanding performance! "We're having a good time and that is what it's all about....tight band, good lyrics, the beat goes on....solid" - Chris, owner of "The Nail" in Ardmore, PA HARRISBURG ONLINE: Burning Blue - Sessions The resounding vocals of Randy Hock lead this solid foursome to a head rocking intense CD. With songs like "Take a hold" and "Peace with the Reachin", Burning Blue really tears up the foundations of rock and builds a new style - check this band out!!! PA MUSICIAN: CD Reviews by Alex Greenberg Burning Blue-Sessions Straight-forward rock 'n'roll in a Motley Crue, riff and power chord vein. However, Brian Eno, Phil Spector, and Todd Rundgren together could make Vince Neil sound anywhere near as good as Randy Hock. What a jet-engine powerful, facile, emotive voice with great purity of tone. I'd like to hear him sing a duet with Les Vonderlin of Voxology. . .it would be the type of song that would immediately thereafter require a cold shower or cigarette. His take on the 'Battle Hymn of the Republic' (yes, THAT 'Battle Hymn') is hands down, freakishly amazing. Donnie Knaub provides solid, attacking, bold lead guitar work, and the rhythm section of Steve Mutzel, Rick Maggio (both bass) and Chad Gossard (drums) are top rate. The lyrical spin of the material on Sessions is, refreshingly, far more optimistic and earnest than a lot of their forbearers in this type of rock. A collection representative of a band with loads of potential. Check out the power ballad 'Your Place is in My Heart' . . .trust me, it's a paradigm of how one should be done.
