Artist description
springrain is an emo band who started around 1998 as a project band. Different members of bands like Crivits, Deuce and Raise Kain joined up forces to do an emo project. This project has grown into a full time band because of their passion for the band and the music. During 1998 and present, the other bands which the members played in all broke up which gave them more time and energy to put into springrain. This has grown into who they are now: An energetic, pounding emo band with their own style and attitude towards the emo scene. springrain's influences are drawn back to bands like Texas is the Reason, Quicksand, Elliot and others, but their hardcore/punk roots are definitely present in their songs.
springrain's early days started in the rehearsing room where they joined their ideas in music and after a few months they started to play their first shows. After a period of 6 months, springrain went into the studio to record their first 7" called 'Tomorrow, that will be the day...' which was released on a Swedish label called Better Communication Records. This 7" was sold out in a few months...
springrain has done two tours since then. One through the Benelux and Germany and one through Scandinavia. springrain toured with Last Days of April on their first tour and their second together with Franklin Lakes and “Only if you call me Jonathan”.
springrain played with numerous bands like Jimmy Eat World, Rival Schools United by Fate, Elliott, At the Drive-in, Keith Caputo, Burning Airlines, Appleseed Cast, Windfall, Cooper and many others...
springrain recorded new songs in 2001. Eight tracks were recorded and one of them was an old song which was redone and originally from their first 7". Eight pounding tracks were ready for release. Six songs of this recording have now been released on their mini CD called "Some things just don't work out..". This CD has been out for a few month now. This CD is released on the Dutch label called Mar Records. The official release date of the CD was march 2002 and since then getting really good reviews and a loads of positive responses from Dutch magazines like FRET, Aardschok, Bullet, Up Magazine and other magazines from outside The Netherlands.
During the past years springrain has definitely built up a name for themselves, not only with their music and shows but also being one of the first emo bands in The Netherlands.
springrain is currently working on new songs for a full length CD. They hope to release it within a half a year from now (end 2002). Expect to hear more from them soon and see them play in Holland and across Europe!

Press Reviews
Bullet Magazine:
The first time I saw springrain, they played in support of Jimmy Eat World and they really managed to impress me. Featuring members of Crivits and Raise Kain, these Dutch rockers play intens emo with some post hardcore influences.
The band puts a lot of effort in their music which results in good structured songs. I geuss they combine the emotional driving edge from bands like Texas is the Reason and Sensefield with the more 'avant garde' rock sound like Quicksand. |
