Artist description
The music of Sol-Rise has been described as a melting pot of creativity, fusing elements of rock, hip-hop, and acoustic rock with an anthem like drive that underscores their unique sound. The members of Sol-Rise include: Terence Armentano (guitar, emcee), Armando Tijerina (lead singer) Pete Berryman (guitar and vocals), David Grant (bass) and Sam Parks (drums). Sol-Rise have been writing songs together for just over a year but were completed in August of 2002 with the final addition of Sam. The band has been playing at Bowling Green State University's largest organization, CRU, every other Thursday since August and recorded their 4 song demo in December of 2002. Sol-Rise is also a featured band at the college's largest philanthropy, Dance Marathon, in which thousands of college students come together to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to provide medical treatment to families of children with life threatening illnesses.
In addition to delivering a positive message, Sol-Rise hopes to bust the stereotypes often associated with Christians through their lyrics and lifestyle. The worst thing anyone can do is to judge this band based on their presuppositions of Christians.
