Artist description
La Marga trio was formed in 1999 by Damian Vernis (bass), Leandro Bulacio (piano) and Facundo Ferreira (drums and percussion). The music played by them can be described as "Latin American jazz", which contains rhythms from Argentina, Cuba, Peru and Brazil. These rhythms are interpreted in own songs and jazz standards, always with a modern jazz concept.
The trio recorded its first c.d. in October 1999. In this production there were some invited musicians as Nora Sarmoria, Beto Satragni, Cesar Franov, Eduardo Avena, Hubert Reyes, Turco Mokad, Yeye Lopez, Cacho Tejera and Gustavo Suarez.
In 2002 La Marga produces its second independent cd named "Los Tambores me Llaman", which includes versions of Pore-Pore (Hermeto Pascoal), Manteca (Pozo - Gillespie), Maturana(Leguizamon-Castilla), and Footprints (Wayne Shorter),and some own songs in which it can be pointed out a "samba" - Partido Alto composed by Damian Vernis, and a "Milongon" composed by Leandro Bulacio
