Artist description
Ed was born in New Orleans but raised in Joliet, Illinois. He began playing the clarinet, and piano at the age of five. He took up the sax six months later. Ed was influenced by Benny Goodman, but a close family friend, (James Grays) was an incredible talent and had a huge impact on Ed's playing.
Ed served in the Marine Corps during which time he conducted and arranged music for the Marine Corps Band. He holds a Masters Degree in Applied Music from Oberlin College in Ohio. Ed has an enormous list of recording and performance credits. To name but a few, he played with Ike and Tina Turner, Lloyd Price, Johnny Thunder, Doc Severenson, Carmen Dragon (the conductor for the L. A. Symphony) and performed in a large stage production of the Buddy Holly story.
