Artist History Säwe means "to sift" in my Mennonite language of Low German, and äwalei means "extras", in the same language. Both of which accurately portray this project. I just made my first EP, called Awalei (www.radiovista.ca/sawe.htm) and all the tracks are available for free, only two of these have room here though. The base of these new tracks are mostly samples, which are then extremely manipulated, until no longer resembling their origins. Some of the sounds are my own vocal samples or instrumentation as well (there is no keyboard or sequencer or MIDI of any kind used here). All of these are extras from a winter of learning and experimenting, loops and pieces that didn't make the grade or weren't appropriate for more musical things I've been slowly working on, but too interesting and labour-instensive to just throw away. So I got a bunch of these extras together and made an audio collage. Share these if you like.... or tell me what I am doing wrong ; ) Just make sure, if you burn this to disc, to eliminate the automatic 2-second gaps, as these songs all run into eachother. Also, headphones are a pre-requisite.
