LIKE GETTING RUN OVER BY A TRAIN!...That's what some people are saying about "Contusion", the first track being featured by ex Balcom Hill Road Guitarist Jimi Vegas and his new project Sully's Terrorist Revenge. "We did some great tunes on the BHR Harvestor album, but the rest of the band abandoned the tunes after we recorded them." says Jimi. "The album was an emotionial process and I think it took a lot out them. We started writing new tunes while we were trying to finance the completion of Harvestor, and by the time the album was done, we had all but stopped playing the album's tunes." According to Jimi that was pretty much the beginning of the end of his tenure as a founding member of Balcom Hill Road. "We were headed in different directions. Mike and I put a lot of heart and soul into the development of these songs, and Alex Perialas went above and beyond what a "engineer" has to do in the studio. Not to mention all the support we got from our families. We owed it to a lot of people who believed in the initial concept of the project to give these songs a chance, and that's what I'm doing." Contusion is very reflective of Jimi's trademark "crunch", and shows the direction in which Jimi's headed with his new project. "I've always been a fan of the heavy rhythm speed metal stuff, like Anthrax, Megadeth, and Metallica. I also dug where bands like Motley Crue, Kiss and Ozzy were going, so STR is like a blend of all of those influences." |
