Artist History
Chris Brown and Kate Fenner have been making music together since they were teenagers. Originally from Toronto, Canada - where they fronted the soul/rock/r&b/funk/sort-of combo The Bourbon Tabernacle Choir - they now live in Brooklyn, NY in the USA and perform as a duo, sometimes with their band, and also as solo artists.
Over the years, they have toured North America - and the world - extensively, often in support of major artists, including Ani DiFranco, Barenaked Ladies, The Tragically Hip, and others.
Their most recent album - O Witness - was released in the spring of 2001, and has just been made available in the USA at CD Baby. Resist War comes from an upcoming album of peace songs that will be released this spring.
Both Chris and Kate are working on solo projects, also for release in the near future.
Chris Brown also devised and compiled the gascd, an album to raise awareness of globalization issues and to fund the legal defense of activists.
Resist War was recorded and mixed on January 8/9, 2003 at Tony Scherr's recording studio in Brooklyn. Tony - a multi-instrumentalist who regularly performs with Jesse Harris and the Ferdinandos - also played guitar on the song.
