Artist History
Beginning as a studio project in1999, the Bandless Hands
worked from their combined songbooks and instruments to record
a list of pieces to be released on CD. The members come from
assorted areas of the music world having spent years touring and
playing with many artists around the country and venues around the
world. Rock, Folk, Classical, acoustic musicians, and multi-ethnic
instrumentalists make up this unique group. Over the past three
years, The Bandless Hands have written over 100 pieces of music and
survived disappointment, felt happiness, change and sorrow as a group
and as individuals which is evident in their music. A handful of the pieces
written during this time were picked to be released on a full length CD
which will become available in record outlets in 2003. Some of these
songs are available on a CD sampler through Mp3.com.
The cover art on the "Glory Hole 5" CD was created by BT and represents
his vision of the legend of the Glory Hole Ghosts-a story of a young boy
buried alive under the Fort Point Channel section of Boston's South End
over one hundred years ago when he was ten years old. As Boston
development of the Big Dig project moved forward, the underground
area of Fort Point was opened and interesting things became unearthed.
It is said that the small boy, seen as five different ghostly figures, roams
the construction site looking for his killer. Each ghostly figure represents a
different part of the childs wrath as he searches. Anger, Pain, Fear, Sorrow
and Revenge. You can see their figures represented on the CD's cover. |
