Artist History Paulo Alencar was born in Rio, Brazil and started playing the violin at the age of 4. He then graduated with honors from the National School of Music at the University of Brazil. Two years later he was given a gold medal from the same university. Paulo then started playing with some of the World's greatest conductors. Paulo's roots are classical but now has devoted himself to writing and performing Brazilian folk,pop and bossa jazz. He is a song writer who's recordings have been performed by some of America's top recording artists.
