Artist History
Nevada Beach Front was born in Northern Virginia. NBF played in most of DC's clubs/holes and at manyother parties, frat houses, and places of higherthought throughout Virginia during the late '80s. Some have claimed that NBF's musical high point wastheir CBGB's (N.Y.) gig in 1989, but you be the judge.Although the members varied over the years, the music remained very out of the ordinary and a kind of petri dish with no dish. Press Reviews
"Nevada Beach Front is a four-guy band that mixes shrill, penetrating guitars with deep, somber vocals in a classic garage style. They've released a self-titled demo that features some promising tracks. Their plangent psycho-'70s guitar stuff works enough to know they'll bearound for a while. Durmmer Mitch Michieli calls their style 'syncopated,' adding that 'we follow each other's rhythms, adding and subtracting as fits instead ofcreating the backbeat and shoving licks and words up its wazoo until deemed listenable.'" Gail O'Hara, Washington D.C. City Paper, Nov. 3-9, 1989."Drink." Geoff"Wha.." Texaco Matt |
