Artist description
Great variety with emphasis on jazz and classics. Band performs traditional Kansas City style jazz with a touch of class and elegance! Candace performs mainly as a trio or quartet including piano/vocals, bass, drums, and guitar or saxaphone. The band is generally high energy but just as adept at handling the sensitive ballads. |

Press Reviews
Kansas City Star-Candace Evans shows her wide range in this pleasing self-produced album. She manages to inject blues into "Cry Me a River," Country in Hank William's "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry," and Beatles into "Here, There and Everywhere" and still maintain a true jazz sound. Recommended. Jazz Ambassador Magazine- "Interpretations" is an impressive first effort that will please her following and certainly add to it. Evans' singing suggests sincerity and vulnerability in ballads such as "Cry Me A River" and "It Never Entered My Mind" and imparts a spirit of imaginative playfulness in "We Kiss In a Shadow" and "Fly Me To the Moon." |
