Artist description
We've been told we're way too loud live and we're way too full of ourselves for our own good. We're not. We love to play music. We love to push boundaries. And lastly, we love to do it with as much volume behind it as possible. |

Artist History
We formed in 1997 at the Rhode Island School of Design. We played what was basically run-of-the-mill hardcore and we were known as Maniac Mansion. We changed the name to The Hidden Cavern and began to experiment with the boundaries of music. We paid less attention to the barriers conventional music had placed on us and did what felt good. We were surprised at the overwhelmingly great response we got. In 2000, we decided we need a change of scenary as we had all graduated. We moved down to Brooklyn and later Washington, DC. That's where we live now. We finally finished our first release for the NYC label, Hott Communication entitled "Look Deeper". It was produced by Joe Somar of The Fugue and everything was done in one take. We're very proud of it and you can order by contacting us or by going to just about any record store that carries independent releases. |

Press Reviews
"(The Hidden Cavern) make music that is amorphous, violent, and beautiful. They're a real challenge at first, but are more than satisfying once you dive in and go for the long swim." - Magnet, "(Look Deeper) is a revelation. Even though it's the first week of January, this is your album of the year for 2003." - The Village Voice |
