Artist History Brian and Eric have been playing together since they first learned how to play their instruments, around 1997. Andre went to high school with Eric, and became close their senior year in high school in 2000. When Andre and Eric decided to start their own band in 2001, they needed to look for other musicians at University of Maine (the school they attended). Brian was the first choice for lead guitar, but since he lived 2 hours away, it was inconvenient. They found Hans via email, and got the job almost immediately. The next year, Brian moved up to UMaine, and since Andre had previously been in a band with Ice, he was the first and last choice for bass. New Rome was born in September of 2002.
