Artist description
Reuniting with his friend and mentor, the legendary super producer Marley Marl, Craig-G is back with full force on the A side of his single “Let’s Get Up,” from the upcoming D&D Records release "This is Now!!!" Marley puts a new spin on a vintage hip-hop beat that we have all heard before, but never quite like this. “When I said Craig-G and Marley formed the ultimate alliance in dropping science believe it when ya heard, I wasn’t lying,” rhymes Craig in the in the opening line of this reunion track. Surging with a new recurrence of energy that is reminiscent of when he first dedicated a jam to all unoptimistics. On the hook Craig-G calls for all listeners to get up and commands “let’s do it” as he assertively makes his intentions known for the listener to dance. On the production side, Marley proves that he still holds an immense amount of relevance in the hit-making department. It is inevitable that even the most stubborn wallflowers will react to this groove.
The flip side takes it from the party straight to the underground, aiming at all phony rappers “screaming gangster till they blue in the face.” “I Get Support Regardless” takes the listener on a much different voyage then they are used to hearing from Craig-G. The dark beat allows him to rip apart all the emcees out there following the tired trend of battling everything in sight, without being able to back up their words. From the start of the song, Craig lets out an onslaught, questioning credibility of these thug rappers, while proving his own. This song is sure to get plenty of love from the true hip-hop fans who will appreciate the fact that he “aint got nothing to loose, I should be the beat’s personal trainer the way I hustle a groove.”
With the release of this single, and his full length LP, “This is Now!!!” coming soon, it is obvious that Craig-G is ready to take back his rightful position in hip-hop. Very few can reach his level of skill, and every one will have to respect his talent and get up, because he will be getting support regardless. Pay attention and “witness history in the making, all over again!!!”

Artist History
With more and more old school rappers trying to make a come back today, Craig-G insistently proves to the masses that you can't call it a come back if you never left. " I'm still here… Just because you ain't hear a cat in a while doesn't mean his skills have diminished. I love Hip-Hop more than I love being a rapper, so I always try to keep my skills up." Explains Craig of his need to stay in the game.
Honing his mic skills in the Queens Bridge Housing development, Craig was first approach by super producer and founder of the "Juice Crew", Marley Marl to do a rendition of "Shout" a hit song for the rock band Tears for Fears when he was only thirteen years of age. " I used to harass Marley every day. He'd come down the stairs and I'd be banging on the pole in the staircase rhyming." Evidently his determination paid off, after the success of "Shout" Craig was quickly granted Juice Crew membership, so by age seventeen, Craig was already holding his own with the likes of Big Daddy Kane, Master Ace, Kool G Rap and the other members of the "Juice Crew".
Craig-G has an impressive track record of hits, from "Dropping Science" to his electrifying verse as one fourth of The Symphony on the track of the same name, who could ever forget that one, "Next up, I believe that's me". Since then Craig has divulged most of his time on the underground circuit, eliminating would-be rappers at popular battles. Craig has also provided a highly applaudible verse on the D&D Crew's "Kill It" single along side Agallah, Channel Live, and RA, Craig shows why he has longevity in this game and why he is the undisputed king of the freestyle.
A fierce freestyle competitor, Craig has just finished penning most of the battle rhymes for Eminem's new semi-biographical movie, 8 Mile, in which he also appears in. With such a list of accomplishments and being a long time friend of D&D Records, it seemed only natural that Craig be signed to the label. His latest single "Say What Ya Want" is produced by Arabian Knight, the executive producer of GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan and is the lead off single to the highly anticipated "D&D Project II" ( a sequel to the widely popular D&D Project released on Arista Records) album due out this summer.
"The Executioner Song" finds Craig rhyming over a track produced by Casper, and it is equally as impressive as his earlier works. As he did in the beginning of his career, Craig effortlessly rides the kicks and snares of the tracks that are provided for him, as he reminds listeners that he is still undoubtedly one of the most skilled MCs in the game.
In all his years in the business, Craig's MO hasn't changed, with witty punch lines and well crafted lyrics his rhymes encourage you to play the track again just to be sure nothing was missed the first time.
