Artist description
At 24, Patrick Verdi has spent half his life with the guitar and his unique sound opens a new musical pathway for your ears to follow. His stylistic approach is always changing, but at any given moment you may hear elements of jazz, world,
progressive, classical, or even blues influences. Composing, recording, and producing have also played a major role in this artists development. His goal is to bring these elements together to create an evolving musical self-portrait.
The music you will hear on this page is a sample of the acoustic output he has written and recorded in the past year. Although Patrick continues to write, record, and perform music for the electric guitar, his acoustic-fusion compositions
are currently the artists main focus. In 2003, two versions of the CD will be available. An all-guitar version, and a full band version with bass, percussion, and keyboards. |

Artist History
Patrick Verdi began playing the guitar at 10 years of age. He soon became uninspired with his progress and abandoned the instrument. After a year hiatus, his passion was rekindled under guitarist John Mcniel.
While teaching private lessons, Patrick obtained a degree in Classical Guitar Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University. He also performed in several master classes including those of William Kannengiser and Paul Galbriath.
In the summer of 2000, Patrick and his good friend Anthony Guest-Scott began writing music together. The vision was to create instrumental acoustic guitar compositions of great diversity and virtuosity. Two years later, the vision is a reality.
After the initial writing process and the first phase of recording Anthony moved to Indiana to pursue a degree in Ethnomusicology. Patrick continued writing and recording and what you hear on this page are samples of those recordings.

Press Reviews
"To say this is some of the most challenging music I've participated
in would do a disservice to the material. His work is incredibly complex
and detailed with frequent meter, key and tempo changes along with sophisticated
chord voicings. These characteristics alone might not impress me as much
if not for the fact that it's also extremely good music. There are solid melodies
and dramatic motifs that provide a focal point for their music that I generally
find lacking in other work in a similar fusion style."
