Taking its cues from European bands such as Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Theatre of Tragedy, Moonspell, and the Cult, URN (u.s.) delivers an energetic live show that combines boy/girl vocal trade-off, churning guitars, keyboards, and steady drums.

Artist History URN (u.s.) has performed throughout the past couple years with many acclaimed groups in several genres such as metal, gothic/industrial, and indie rock. Having shared the stage with bands such as The Dave Brockie Experience, The Cruxshadows, Diva Destruction, Seraphim Shock, Bella Morte, Gossamer, Bozo Porno Circus, Cruciform Injection, Form30, Apocalypse Theatre and The Babylonian Tiles. The band has also performed with many popular gothic/industrial disc jockeys such as Carrie Monster and has done a simulcast with IPM Radio.

Press Reviews Consecrated Ashes The EP release from Urn is called “Consecrated Ashes”, containing 2 tracks of “Father Dearest” and “Liar in Waiting”. The first track was just dreamy. The female vocal and the words are just wonderful and the music just as powerful with the vocals. The second track “Liar in Waiting” is this crunchy guitar song of what Goth rock is about. The rhythm guitar is hard and crunchy and the music just asking you to just pound out the anger on the dance floor. There are many changes of the song and seems like Type O Negative did in the old days. Don’t get any thing going through your head their like the Type O Negative. By no means are they anything like them, just a thought placed in your head. The EP has remixes from Neurepublik, D-Roo, and Nimbus. The remix of “Liar in Waiting” is dance mix by Neurepublik. The remix did not do justice to Urn and the female vocals did not carry weight through the mix. The remix was just not to par and the remix was just piss poor job from Neurepublik Next track is “Embrace”. The crunchy guitars and well mix in keyboards and just a joy to dance to. Urn has great bridge and chorus through this remix by D-Roo. Just one listen to the remix you may agree with me. The song carries the weight with female and male vocals. I feel is their best song off the EP. It has the speed and the emotional support to make one of the best underground songs to hit the dance floors. The guitar swims through the speakers, the keys, and the bridge together is just the cat meow. The Nimbus remix of their last song from the EP called “Shadow Dancer”. The mix is EBM. Oh what the mix of EBM it is. This track is pounding you mind out of the shell it hides behind of. The EBM beat just screams to get your ass on the floor and get down. The vocals are mixed just right with the music. I will spread Consecrated Ashes around to the DJ’s to play for the floor. Gobby gives the CD’s 4 coffins.
