Artist History
The Downs represent a culmination of many years of experience in the vast Rocky Mountain punk and ska scenes. RJ, drums, is a veteran of such bands as Matter of Fact, Hemi Cuda, and US Hoss. He's been beating the skins for over 20 years, and can play tighter than a nun's hoohoo. Jarrett, guitars, is the former "hey, why don't we add a second guitarist?" guy from many bands. He cut his teeth trying to keep up with the likes of C.C. Deville and Richie Sambora. The Downs is the first serious band he's been the only axe wielder in. Erik, bass guitar, is a veteran of the extreme north/pacific northwest ska scene. He has a vast musical background as well as a diverse music education, and this is the first band he's played bass in. We think he's doing a pretty kick-ass job. Tommy, they guy with the vox that rox, is new to the world of superstardom, but his impressive education focusing in English Composition and Literature helps to write lyrics that are a step or two above the typical cliches heard time and time again. His stage presence was honed at many a karaoke night. All in all, the fusion of the influences of the different backgrounds helps this band to break out of the norm and into your living room.
