Artist History Tone's history In spring 2001 Juha and Tuomas got an idea of founding a band. They asked Jaakko to join the band as a singer. Previously Jaakko had played drums in band called Ivan Jess with Juha. Tone´s first training place was Tuomas´ room which was a bit too growded when all three of us packet among the drums and stuff. In summer the town of Jaala discovered a new, cheap and a better training place for the band. After summer as the school started a major search for a bass player begun. Jaakko had been in a same "New winds"- project with Hate and noticed the talent that he had as a guitar and keypord player. Logically Hate was asked to join the band as a bass player. Though Hate told he wasn´t intrested for the job, he was still wanted to the band. So in the festive atmosphere of the "Night of the Arts"- happening Hate joined the band as its fourth member. This time Hate was let to play guitar and keybords. At first he was also Tone's second singer but since it has dropped out and nowadays he does mostly backing vocals. As autumn past by co-operation with the new member started work out. The band started to write songs together and the name Tone was came up with. The first public appearance happened in november at schools christmas party where Tone got to play their three-song-lasting set. Jaakko played bass because no-one else was found in time. Jaakko considered of getting a role of singing bass-player. But eventually it didn't work. Tone's first recordings were made with four-track tape recorder which was loaned from Jyrki Jämsèn for about 6 months. Three songs from the first demo "Buried alive", where though recorded with an eight-track in school of Voikkaa (lukio) under supervision of Jämsèn. Rest of the songs were recorded at Mika Töttö's "Voikkaa-Records". Since Jaakko got himself in summer 2002 16-track digital-recorder Tone has been able to record on their own. During that summer Tone got to play some "real" gigs for the first time. Tone performed in couple local bars and in a midsummer festivals at Joensuu. Problems with bassplayer was solved when Hate's cousin "Carloz" agreed to come help on the Tone's live Shows. Carloz "Kallu" is quite busy with his other projects so he isn't a "real" member of the band, but we like him very much because he is a very talented musician. Real Bass player!!
