Artist description
The word "donnybrook" originated from a town in Ireland. This town named Donnybrook was known for its annual fair, which attracted enormous crows. Every year the Donnybrook Fair was notoriously remembered for its uproarious and uncontrollable brawls. The term "donnybrook" eventually adopted that same meaning. With this definition in mind, six musicians hailing from the dark forests of Lincoln, Maine created a sound and attitude resembling an overwhelming "Donnybrook."
United as a band in 1997, Donnybrook has persevered in their quest to bring an intelligent, melodic wall of sound to the listening audience. Contributing factors of this north storm science include dramatic mood shifts of voice and instrument, emotionally charged tempo and rhythm variations, the meshing of various styles of music, the fluid construction of each composition, an overpowering and demanding live show. The lyrical content balances on the thin line of hope and inevitable doom, the balance of life and death. These overall guidelines lead to a dark sound casting shadows of mystery upon the listener and audience.
Donnybrook draw their inspiration from a wide variety of sound including Led Zeppelin, Alice In Chains, Faith No More, Pink Floyd, Down and Native American tribal music. Donnybrook currently resides in Providence, Rhode Island. Currently they are working with world class producer Johnny K (Disturbed, Soil, Machine Head). Donnybrook's mission is to open humanities eyes and ears to the infinite potential of music and mankind.......
