Artist History
Formed in Providence, Rhode Island by students at the Rhode Island School of Design (Kill O'Reilly and Travis Bane) along members of New York City based post punk warriors The Fugue (Joe Somar). Played many shows with bands like V For Vendetta, The Locust, Arab on Radar, Wolf Eyes, Lightning Bolt, Need New Body, amongst many others. Broke big when they got a handful of dates opening for Dillinger Escape Plan. They immediately signed to NYC-based label Hott Communication and put out a double seven-inch set entitled BLARRRRRGHH!!! The release got rave reviews throughout the East Coast. The band immediately did a split CD with The Speedy Monz that received similar acclaim. The two bands hit the road and had a less than successful tour of the West Coast. DFO is back on their own turf now and are currently working on material for their debut full-length for Hott Communication as well as a split CD with their college buddies and equally acclaimed Providence art-rockers The Hidden Cavern. |

Press Reviews
"DFO's nervous energy and powerful retrofuturistic electro-angst make them a band to watch in 2003" - Alternative Press. "DFO has no problem leaving a long line of corpses behind them when they tear into their symphony of shreiks and raped robot synth sounds and we couldn't be happier!" - Magnet. "One of Providence's best kept secrets." - The Providence Music Journal. "DFO is my pick for the next band to blow up. They've already raised the bar for anyone using keyboards and drum machines to make music." - CMJ |
