Artist description
The Shawn Lightfoot Project is a recent collaboration, proudly established as of October of 2002. Derived from the lyric-tenor vocals & supple guitar of Shawn Lightfoot alongside the percussive pulse of Tennessee Weston Buck. Characteristic of this partnership is a foreground coloured with melodic bliss, over a backdrop seasoned with subtle rhythms. A rare and spacious combo these two make. And as odd as the 2-man band might seem in modern times, Shawn and Tennessee have found a niche unlike any other. This dynamic duo creates smashingly innovative melodies laced with lyrical mischief and riddled with good wholesome fun.
Both collaborators are active showmen, and aim to entertain their restless compatriots ~ And without fail they do so. Consistently serving up choice shows, as elusive as the ace of spades. |

Artist History
Shawn's ethereal tenor voice serves as the prime element in his growing catalogue of original material. Shawn has been performing for the masses for many a year. Though he's played the guitar since the age of nine, songwriting was a new art to Shawn when he came to Jacksonville from North Carolina in the summer of 2000. The 23-year-old songwriter's "delightfully schizophrenic" musical sensibility is inspired by everything from classical to modern music. Having completed his first solo release with Coalesce Productions, entitled "Nocturnes and Serenades", a new precedent for American songwriters has been set.
Shawn's percussive counterpart, Tennessee Buck, has been a multi-faceted musician for 10 years now, as well as an accomplished swing & jazz Dancer. As can be expected, Tennessee thrives in the traditions of early jazz drummers, and his playing is its testament. Stretching the limits of indulgent rhythms from the rolls of the snare, to the resonance of the gong, to the rap of the washboard. This light touch and sensible approach to acoustic percussion offers sincere resolution to Shawn's music. |
