Artist description -Is a brand-new outfit from Rochester, N.Y. Former members of the band Beachbob and some other characters make up this unbelievably unique and otherworldly rock band. The bands prides themselves on the art of song mood. Unlike other generic bands, "Pompous Pilate" have quite an integrated repertoire of songs ranging from eerie ballads to earth-moving cosmic stompers. The band's songwriting has been years in the works and since the release of there debut album, "No Living; No Life Guard on Duty" this summer, "Pompous Pilate" is quickly making a name for themselves as Rochester's most promising artists. "Pompous Pilate" was concieved in the fall of 2001 and the band has been writing and performing regionally ever since.They yield a pleasantly eclectic mix of growling guitars and smooth, soothing melodies bonded together by an explosive and dynamic rhythm section. The band is often compared to the likes of Pearl Jam with a more modern twist of cosmic overtones and unconventional song structure.Aside from there individual sound an approach, the music still carries great melody and catchy hooks.
