Artist History
At the age of 13 yrs.old, Bryan R. Clayton got his first Red & White Fender Squire Guitar for Christmas. He started lessons shortly after that. Immediately knowing that this was something he wanted to do, he spent alot of time practicing and listening to many different types of music. Everything from foremost: Texas Blues, Classic Rock, Rock, Hard Rock.
Some of his favorite musical influences are: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jonny Lang, Def Leppard, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, to name a few.
When he was 17 yrs.old, with a few years of lessons behind him, Bryan felt confident enough to start a band and began getting into the music scene. He started a band called Delicate Ground. It consisted of Bryan as Frontman (Vocals, Rhythm, Lead Guitarist), a bass guitarist, and a drummer. The band started out by performing at a high school talent expo. After getting a taste of playing out & performing in front of an audience, that started 3 years of "Battle Of the Bands", contests, and numerous other venues. Some of the places Delicate Ground played were:
The Stone Pony, The Saint, Convention Center, all in Asbury Park. CBGB in N.Y.C was an experience in Sept of 2001. Other local appearances were Krome in Sayerville, The Birch Hill in Old Bridge, Beachcomber in Seaside Heights, all NJ. The "Battle of the Bands" at the Saint 2002 resulted in a Delicate Ground song being put on a compilation cd with other bands that were all finalist in the competition. He enjoyed every minute of performing out, learning alot and coming across many new experiences on the way.
One of his most rewarding experiences to date was in the Summer of 2002. At the age of 19yrs.old, when he was nominated one of the years Top 10 Guitarists by the Asbury Park Music Awards. He was in the company of other gifted guitarists, all his senior. The band was also nominated one of the Top 10 Young Bands of the Year.
Now at the age of 20, he has been writing and recording all his original music for over 5 yrs. In the last few months he has been heading towards finishing a possible movie soundtrack. Meanwhile, he is also creating an EP called Filtered containing 3-4 songs to be finished shortly. There is also a possibility of making Filtered his first full length solo album.
Bryan's main goal is to get his music out and have it heard world wide, establish a record deal and continue his passion for music in all aspects including, writing, recording, and performing it.

Press Reviews
Sunday, June 10th, 2001 Battle of the Bands at Lakehurst Naval Base Motorcycle & Car show for Ocean County Vocational Schools. DELICATE GROUND WON FIRST PLACE! -Ocean County Vo. Tech-
Thursday, July 26th, "Take some down-home, slow hard rock with a slightly heavy edge and add some steady jams. Voila! Enjoy." -Jane Jubilee, Aquarian Weekly-
-October 2001- ”Delicate Ground took stage in full costume dress (see photo) and showed the Stone Pony crowd they could perform a range of music starting with solid electric rock that slid into a couple of complicated hollow body ballads. The band - comprised of Bryan Clayton on guitar & vocals, Rob Puri on bass & backup vocals, and Ian Keeney on drums & percussion, was one of few and only bands to receive a standing ovation and asked to come out for an encore on the Stone Pony Stage.” –NJCOAST.COM-
“Delicate Ground's guitarist did a lot of naughty things with his Gibson and Fender, like throwing them behind his back while spinning out tough, up-tempo blues rock and a cover of Jimi Hendrix's Voodoo Chile, after which he lay his Fender on the floor near the amp and let it bleed. –ROCKNATION.TV, 1-2002-
The Saint
”Since opening it's doors in 1994, the Saint has played host to the likes of Ben Folds' Five and Everlast. Local music is what makes this place tick however, just ask acts like the Nosebleeds, Jezebelle, and Delicate Ground.” –digitalcity.com/northjersey-
