Artist History
From the night they met and simultaneously quoted the Pretenders lyric "not me baby I'm to precious I better f'-off", Lynn Elliott and Rebecca Reed knew that they had made a connection and found common ground, Music. Reed was looking for a voice capable of capturing the vision of her songs. Elliott was seeking a writer capable of sparking her interest and her selective musical taste. Reed's somewhat unorthodox writing style became the perfect vehicle for Elliott's remarkable voice. Irrational Fear was formed and the two performed as a duo in Louisville and around the country - from Austin TX to Michigan. Always progressing, Irrational Fear evolved into a full band with the addition of Mike Wilson on Bass and Billy Bartley on drums. Their combined experience and influence brings a diverse mix of high energy rhythm and intuitive performance to the group. Irrational Fear's unique sound blends elements of Alternative rock, acoustic folk, the abandon of Punk, and creates a sound that is fresh, slightly off center and never generic!
To date, Irrational Fear has 1 recording, a 3 song EP which has earned them some respectable accolades. Laney Goodman, Fem Music Guru and Host/Producer of the nationally syndicated radio program, Women In Music, wrote the band personally to say "You all rock!" The band anticipates the release of their full length CD in early 2003. |
