Artist description
Matt Ammerman is the singer, songwriter and producer of the Word Made Flesh album. He has generously donated his time and talents to the production of this project, and released the album rights to Word Made Flesh.
Word Made Flesh is a Christian non-profit organization committed to serving Jesus among the poor of the two-thirds world.
We are called by Jesus Christ to birth communities which practice the presence and proclamation of the Kingdom of God among the poorest of the poor. These Kingdom communities will be placed and nurtured within the Two-Thirds World mega-cities. We believe nationals have the greatest opportunity for the intense identification necessary for on-going transformation among the urban poor.
Our method is incarnational.
Our means is community.
Our involvement includes advocacy for the poor, ministries of compassion and proclamation of the Good News. We exist that Jesus, the Living Word, be made flesh. Word Made Flesh seeks to enter these regions and others, to serve the poor by pioneering and partnering in mission while seeking to make Jesus, the living Word, flesh among the poor.
All profits from the sale of this album will go directly towards supporting the ministry of Word Made Flesh.

Artist History
In 1998 and 1999, Matt traveled to India and Romania with Word Made Flesh to serve among the the destitute poor and among street children. Many of the songs on this album were inspired by Matt's experiences during his time overseas.
Matt writes: "In attempting to serve among the world's poor, we have found that it is we who have been served by those whom we went to minister to. They have shared with us what little matrial possessions they have, welcomed us into their families and neighborhoods and taught us the importance of community. We dedicate this music project to our friends who have suffered so much, and to those who continue to suffer in poverty." |
