Artist History Rhemona Quimby (formerly known as Quimby)began in 1998. In 2000 I completed the "DiViNe Isolation collection. "Breathe" became the first song to be released as a single from the collection. Since then, there have been numerous collaborations with other artists as a writer or featured vocalist. Songwriting collaborations include Twinspirit (HOW WOULD WE LOVE, co-written with my little brothr Kwasi Beidako) check it out on her page here on MP3.com. Other collaborations include Annex/"Progress..(Acid jazz/Trip Hop), Nice Beats/"The Burbs" (Acid Jazz), Gesaba/"Tell Me" (Ambient), and KDubbs/"Same Kind" (Smooth Jazz) of Urban Underground, Master of Self, Eagle ILL, and Trapper the Rapper. I've featured a few of the collaborations here on this page. I'm influenced by a variety musical styles, from the motown sound, P-Funk, blue grass, to disco (eclectic...for real!) But my heart lives for Techno/Trance/Trip Hop and Acid jazz types of music ala Portishead, Massive Attack, Bjork and of course Tricky. That's the musical direction I plan to follow. Join me... I recently launched an indie record label,(yay!) EMERGE records. THe first release "Akransas Trip Hop" is a collection of songs written and produced by meself, as well as collaborations with Annex(Progress of the Individual),Nice Beats(The Burbs), and Mark of Chimney Rock(42nd Street Session). SHE KNOWS is a collection of R&B/Pop songs written and recorded between 1998 and 2000. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF ANN O'MEHR is an album with a story line and skits to back it up. The entire album was written and recorded in 2000 in a hotel in Jonesboro,Arkansas during a stint as an Artist in Residence at a local school. It has since been remastered and re-released here. SO BEAUTIFUL is a collection of pure R&B songs. The title song was penned by the legendary blues singer RUE DAVIS, and recorded in Jackson,Mississippi.
