Artist History
We like to play. Yeah. The first incarnation of NGS was a metal band called Twitch, consisting of singer Steve Eloise, guitarist Robby Richard, bassist Nick Granger, and drummer Thomas Harper. Unfortunately, Nick informed the fellas he was going to have to move. Robby called his friend Chance Marchiafava to come and watch them play at his b-day party. Chance was very hairy, and had a tendency to expose himself. Despite this, upon realizing that Chance could thunk out a few toneless notes on a bass guitar, they promptly put him playing bass. Unfortunately, the band broke up a short while later. Robby and Thomas chose to stay together and switched genres to punk. They even invited Chance to play with them. They played covers of Blink 182 and Green Day songs. They were okay together, and even had a few originals written. But when Chance started calling everyone his minion and referring to himself as King Fart of Shit Mountain, the band kicked him out. They needed another bassist. Their selection was smart, witty, entertaining, a good songwriter, and had no body hair, to boot. They sounded excellent together. In fact, had they stayed with it longer, a label probably would've picked them up. But Robby and Thomas felt something was missing. Something nasty and hairy. Finally, they let in to their primal urges, and called up Chance, recently back from a short vacation at Charter Mental Health Center. Chance's musicianship had noticeably improved. They christened themselves Next Generation Slackers, and set off into the world.Eventually, they encountered a traveller by the name of Kyle Leblanc. NGS jumped on the man like a cheetah on a three-legged antelope. Bringing with him his fabled Guitar of Doom, he joined NGS as the fourth member. This dream team of musical goodness then set out again to conquer the wastelands with a new sound. |
