Artist History
Pennsylvania established in 1997, the Keystone All-Stars are among an elite class of West-Central PA punk rock bands. The band started out in '97 with it's original members; Jim Dickman, Johnny Leather Jacket, Scott Campbell, Jimmy Hess, and Brian Dumm, practicing in the legendary "Larry's Wet Spot" near Ebensburg, PA.
Loaded with a handfull of original songs and enough rock n' roll attitude to choke a bear, the All-Stars played a select amount of the shows during their first year. In 1998, the band recruited former bassist of The Cranks, Rik Golden, for percussion duties. Forging on, the lineup of Dumm, Golden, Leather Jacket, and Hess began to astonish larger growing crouds, and recorded their first demo in a basement with a crappy four track.
Just a year later, another former Crank; Gig Nileski became an All-Star, taking over the rythem guitar spot on the eve of the bands first CD release, their "Self-Titled" EP. With a now loyal and substantial following, the band toured the PA area gaining speed like a runaway locamotive.
The band recorded their first full length album in winter of 2000. "Devil on My Shouldar" featured more of the same tough as nails attitude of the All-Stars but also posessed a darker edge in it's lyrics and melodies. On the back of "Devil," the All-Stars branched out to further regions, spreading their filth like a cheap Pittsburgh whore.
In late 2000, Golden was finally able to move back to playing bass, a position all band members welcomed, as Hess moved on to bigger and better things. Searching for a drummer the All-Stars had a brief stand with a man known only as Steveo. Steveo proved to be a natural fit for the band with his crude behavior and drinking tendencies. However, commited to other projectsm the All-Stars were again in search of a more perminent drummer.
In October of 2000, the legendary Chris O'Leary took the stage with the Keystone All-Stars at a small bar in Northern Cambria, PA, and rocked the house to their knees. The band soon went back to the studios to record their second full length album, "Man's Ruin". In early 2001, the All-Stars were picked up by Jump Start Records, joining a stable of rockin' bands that made the All-Stars fell rigth at home. "Man's Ruin" was released in late 2001 and good reviews of the band have followed.
However with success comes sacrifice, and not all of the band members were able to make it. In January of 2002 the Keystone All-Stars opened the latest and gretaest chapter of the bands legacy. With the introduction of Brock "Hollywood" Holland on bass, the band has been knocking out the old pub favorites and forging ahead. Preparing for their fourth upcomming album the band has developed some new songs with aggressive beats and classic melodies. This full length album is estamated for release in late 2002 or early 2003.
