Artist description We talk about the ordinary man and, at the same time we try to find a way to escape from this limitaded world. The band get together every two years and create the musics during a weekend. The recordings are usually made in one take and the ocasional mistakes became part of thge music. Its not a lazy style, the fact is that we live in separate cities. The lirics are made during the interval of the encounters.

Artist History Carraspana first reunion occurs in the year of 1989 in Teresina, the capital of Piaui, one of the pooest states of Brazil. The conditions were very poor, being an optimist. Kelson Nobre had the idea and joined with Marcio Soares and ocasional participants to made the first recordings. After years of efforts, it finally made a decent recording in a home studio in Marcio´s bedroom with the complains of his mama, Dona Terezinha. About this time, Cássio Tersandro, an old ocasional participant, become a steady member of the band. Now the recordings were made at Natal, the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Norte, one of the poorest states of Brazil. It happens in 1999, ten years after the firt reunion. They recorded a CD during the summer of 1999, another one in the summer os 2000, and there is material for two new albuns that were recorded in the summer of 2002. It is always summer in the northeast of Brazil.

Press Reviews Carraspana creates a new style in music, its called ordinary-punk-metaphisics-pop music. They can be sometimes very sophisticated in the lirics and harmonies and sometimes very ordinary too, but their way of performing the songs is very rude and these ingredients made a very melodic and unusual sound. Its clear that they are trying to save the third world from the actual lack of creativity. Let´s pray for Carraspana. They are our hope for salvation.
