Artist description John Carter is the founder person of MUSIC WITH A DIFFERENCE. I beleive that if one is writing original material be it lyrics or music compostition you should be yourself. My musicical ideas are what I see and hear in my life, it is what I am able to create as a person with no help from anyone else basically. Surfacing my true creations for you the listener to enjoy and to know that this is all me.

Artist History I was born: - 15-1-54 in a small town in Nottinghamshire, called Mansfield, central UK. I grew up in and around Mansfield area until the age of 16 and then moved to Retford North Nottinghamshire. My family has a history of working in the coalmines in which I followed in my younger years. At 11 yrs old I took a great interest in music. Little did I know I would still be so much interested in the subject today. It is only in recent years that I have realized that I have some hidden inspirations regarding song writing, and am enjoying bringing them to the surface in my present years. I always remember my 7th birthday as a child, I cried and cried as my Mother and my Father took me in and out of all the music shops in and around Mansfield searching for a guitar that they couldn't afford to buy, all I wanted was a guitar; I could see loads of them, why couldn't we just take one. Not realizing they were looking for something they couldn't afford, not understanding as a child. These memories to me tell me one thing; music was built into me. Musical ideas go right back to childhood, I didn't all of a sudden stipulate I wanted to be a part of song writing, there was no fixed date for starting all this. As far as I can see it's always been there, but really is a shame that it's not until my later years that I have taken it seriously. The songs I write come from my personal experiences only. I never try to copy a particular style or feel, although there may be an occasional fiction written. My method of writing is quite unique at times, deciding on the song title and what the song is about at the end, rather than the beginning. This creates such interest to me as a songwriter, never knowing what the finished result will be. All my songs that are made available to listen to have been created by myself alone in my very own SECLUDED STUDIO'S in which I spend so much time. I hope you enjoy what you will hear and emphasize that my sounds are what I quote as being MUSIC WITH A DIFFERENCE.
