Artist description
Philadelphia Punk Rock. Matt Mannherz, Rich Leiter, and Dave Moore first started plotting their musical careers back in 1994; high school friends influenced by diverse punk rock groups ranging from Dag Nasty to Quicksand, the three began writing tunes together in their Philadelphia suburban hometown. Over the next five years the group toured the US and Canada as Bleed, an early 90's hardcore band playing alongside the likes of bands such as Snapcase, Boy Sets Fire, Grade, Avail, & Hot Water Music to name a few. Recording several albums for California's Ebullition Records, and selling over 12,000 records without retail distribution or major label backing throughout their lifespan, Bleed became an influential band in the now widely known "emo" scene.
Jump to 2002 and they had decided that they were ready for a fresh start and new sound. With several songs written, they felt "tight" enough to start looking for singer, and took out an ad in the City Paper which was answered by Greg Kludge. Hailing from numerous Philadelphia bands including Problem Addict & 12 Step Romance, his vocals were the perfect compliment to the music they created. A gig at Philadelphia hotspot the Northstar followed a few months later, and Hall of Fame was officially born. Since then HOF has quickly become one of the most anticipated bands to come out of Philadelphia in years. This four piece outfit combines the guitars of rock with the infectious hooks and choruses of pop. Although their name may imply a sense of conceitedness, the band is driven by an attitude borrowed from such punk icons as The Clash and The Ramones that demands whether it is front of two people or two thousand people, they are going to play their hearts out. Hall of Fame's contagious energy is best displayed in their live show that is sure to leave the audience wanting more.
In September 2003, Hall of Fame will release their debut album Here's to Hoping, recorded in New Jersey's famous Trax East Studios with the co-production of Eric Rachel (Saves the Day, Snapcase, Dillinger Escape Plan, The Misfits). Having moved on from all other projects in order to concentrate full time on HOF, the band is focused on touring non stop and will no doubt acquire many new fans in the process. If the reaction to the band thus far is any indication, the future for Hall of Fame is very bright.
