Press Reviews
Bourgeois Heroes
"Myths & Motorcycles"
Thank god for records like this. Without them, aging record geeks like myself would spend the rest of our lives in a permanent state of ennui. The opening track alone ("Forces") changes moods/styles about three times, all the while still drawing you in with its esoteric lyrics, triangle (I think), organ solo, and marvelously clunky drumming. "Bicycles for Two" mixes The Crystals and Merseybeat with a sort of busker feel. It really should be on any mix tape made in pursuit of a crush. Three of the songs feel like a remarkable combonation of Bob Dylan fronting the 1965 Beatles, but don't get the wrong idea. This is not derivative music. It's highly original, an emormous amount of fun and damn near brilliant.
