Artist History
In the summer of 2001, Danny Kaufmann joined up with Evan Lucy and began the band that would eventually become 5 cent wing. They chose the name "Hypengyophobia" and quickly composed 5 original songs, which were released on a 15 copy limited run of the "Responsibility...What's That?" EP. After a name change, the duo released the "Unchosen" EP, a nine track featuring original songs "Face In The Crowd", "Song About A Song", and "Who Can Blame Us?" as well as a few cover songs. After yet ANOTHER name change, they enlisted the help of drummer Jared Reeves and played under the name "Told You So". They released their first full-length album in August of 2002. The album, entitled "Self-titled" featured alt. rock anthems coupled with driven guitars and meaningful lyrics. They played a few shows in order to promote the album before disbanding in October 2002. Danny and Evan re-emerged in December 2002 as an entirely new band, one that had traded their electric guitars in for acoustics, creating a more relaxed setting in which to craft their songs |
