Artist History
Summer of 1996, the concept originated in Lincoln Park (Kettering, Ohio) with Thadd Brittian and Rob Richter writting songs on acoustic guitar. Many other regionally known musician came and went, but The Poor Devils really became a band when then drummer Brian Hoflick introduced Mike Espedal, an accomplished lead guitarist to Thadd and Rob in late 2000. Shortly after their first performance, Brian left for L.A. and Spoo Monkeys brainchild, Ryan Smith, took Brian's place. The line up remained the same for over a year, with many notable midwest performances and the limited release of Live (The Poor Devils). Mid 2002, Ryan moved to Nashville to pursue other endevors. Regionally acclaimed Frank Woods, drummer extraodinare joined the band shortly after and the line up produced their latest CD, Demonstration in Nov. 2002. |
