Artist History
New Trinity Baroque was founded in London, United Kingdom. After its debut at St. Martin-in-the-Fields in March of 1998, the ensemble quickly became one of the most promising young British early music ensembles. When NTB's founder and director Predrag Gosta moved to the United States, the ensemble continued its mission in Atlanta, Georgia.
The ensemble has its roots in the Ensemble of the Studio for Early Music (since 1993), based in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. The ensemble's original members, such as Predrag Gosta and Mirna Ogrizovic, continue their work in NTB. Since New Trinity Baroque was [re]established as an ensemble of international musicians, the group continues to maintain that presence today, working closely with US and international artists. Music does not have any boundaries, and with this as a part of its mission, NTB is very confident in finding its steady place in the world's distinguished early music community.
New Trinity Baroque's members perform on period instruments, specializing vocal-instrumental music of the 17th and 18th centuries. Under the patronage of Early Music Network, an international association supporting early music and historical performance all over the world, New Trinity Baroque presented over twenty concerts in the 2001/02 season, including the Atlanta premiere of the Monteverdi Vespers, and Handel's newly discovered "Gloria". This season, the group engaged in an ambitious project of concerts with international artists, and recently finished a new recording of Henry Purcell's most famous opera "Dido & Aeneas", with Evelyn Tubb in the title role. |
