Artist History
It’s February / March 1996, the place Aarschot, Belgium, that’s when and where Five days off began their career. They started playing together, making songs, and being extremely motivated to become an explosive kick ass punkrock-band.They started making songs and played a lot of shows after they released some demo-tapes, and the responses were good! They often got compared with bands as Randy, Strung out and Satanic Surfers but with their own personal touch. The people from Funtime-records (Belgium biggest punkrock-label) were interested in releasing the new songs, it became a splitcd with Not that straightcalled 'Dedicated to you', ...around 500 copies sold and there were even more shows, the responses were getting better and better. One year later the guys from 5 days off got back into the studio, for recording their first full-length CD, ‘'Ripping the field'’.
2000 was a wonderful year for the buys, they played about 25 shows, they re-released the Ripping the field album in Us/Canada on New-Horizon-records, Indonesia on NoMadness-records.2001 was a year of shows and tours, tours and shows they did about 50shows.True the years they’ve played with many kick ass bands like Strung Out, Ignite, Satanic Surfers, No Fun At All, 59 Times The Pain, Down By Law, Bouncing Souls, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Reel Big Fish, Vision, Frenzal Rhomb, Useless Id, Burning Heads, Skin Of Tears, Pridebowl, Undeclinable... … to name a few, and last but not least did a small European tour with Adhesive. In the summer of 2001 they toured Canada, it was a big succes, they also toured Spain twice, both times were amazing! They also played on Belgium biggest punkrockfestivals, Groezrock and Krakrock, Rock Herk.Their live-reputation is very good and energetic. They appeared on several compilationcds with many Fat, Epitaph, Burning Heart and BadTaste bands.
2002: They just released 'Coast to coast' their second full-lenght, and will promote this cd by touring a lot (Europe, Canada), we'll keep you updated about whats going on the next weeks, months, just check our news-section!They just got signed by Vitamine-Pillen as well, they'll take care for the distro and promo in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
As for now, the year 2002, they did shows / tours in Spain, Italy, France, Holland, ... played a lot of shows, they even played at the pukkelpop- festival with Nofx, No Use For A Name, Sick Of It All, New Found Glory, Midtown, Thursday, Jimmy Eat World, ...
So now you know where they are now, and I’m sure this story is far away from finished! See you in the pit boys and girls! |
